Who is eligible to volunteer at Collision?
Our volunteers must have a conversational level of English. We ask that our volunteers are polite, courteous, punctual and committed to contributing to the success of Collision. We welcome applications from people from across the world and are looking forward to working with a diverse, ambitious group of volunteers. All applications will be screened by our Volunteer Team to ensure the Collision volunteers fulfil our criteria.
Are there any age limitations to volunteer?
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
When do applications close?
Volunteer positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once applications are open here, you can register your interest to volunteer at Collision. Please note that registering does not guarantee your volunteer position.
Where does Collision take place?
Collision Conference is held at the Enercare Centre, Toronto, from May 20-23 2019.
Will Collision cover my costs?
No. Collision does not cover volunteers’ travel or accommodation costs, although volunteers will receive a lunch pack on the days of their shift.
Do I need to purchase a ticket?
No. You will be free to enjoy Collision based on the terms you complete your assigned shifts. However, if you fail to complete, arrive late or leave early for your shifts, you will no longer be entitled to attend Collision.
What teams can I volunteer with at Collision?
Volunteers will help our Collision team across all areas of the event including our Operations, Registration, Stages and more. Volunteers will be assigned to one role for all shifts.
How many shifts do I have to complete?
Volunteers will be assigned to a role / team that requires them to either work 2 full day shifts (8-9 hours each). The team you are assigned to will be dependant on your experience and availability.
Will I receive training before my first shift?
We will provide volunteers with a briefing to run through the Collision Volunteer Programme, their volunteer roles and answer any questions.
If I need a visa to volunteer at Collision, will you help with my visa application?
While we will not engage directly with your relevant embassy, we can supply you with a letter confirming you will be volunteering at Collision to support your application. If you require a visa support letter please email a list of your passport details to firstname.lastname@example.org
